There's an open-air manure heap just steps from the cemetery entrance on Via San Francesco in Quartu. In the narrow street behind the supermarket, uncivilized people unload all sorts of things, even arriving in pickup trucks, especially at night to try to go unnoticed.

Alongside the usual bags of unsorted waste, there are bottles, plastic, paint cans, and much more. The land where these dumps occur is private. Some time ago, the municipality had ordered the owners to install a fence to prevent this mess. This was done in one area, but the fence was soon torn down, and access to dump waste continued unabated.

Despite ongoing surveillance, including with the aid of cameras and camera traps, which are bearing fruit with many identified and reported, uncivilized people seem to fear nothing and continue to fuel landfills, even in the city center. What's being thrown away is primarily construction waste, resulting from renovations carried out illegally and which cannot be properly disposed of in landfills.
