Wild boar emergency in the city council, in Alghero , on the proposal of the president of the Environment commission Christian Mulas, UDC group leader. Present were the leaders of the Porto Conte Park, the provincial president of Coldiretti, the agricultural representatives, the Forestry, the Barracelli and the representatives of the Forestas Agency.

«Today it is not easy to control the births of the only animal that embarrasses even the most convinced animal rights activists , it is certainly not a wild animal in danger of extinction», explains Mulas, «unlike many other species decimated by hunting, or by climate change, disruption of habitats etc. A problem, that of wild boars and fallow deer, is now out of control: it is bringing farms and private homes to their knees and is causing damage to people who accidentally have the misfortune of coming across and colliding with these animals, the main cause of road accidents with everything what ensues, with damage to people and property. A number that is out of control also in Alghero and the countryside that has transformed them into a social problem."

«In the last ten years», reveals the president of the Environment Commission, «the number of serious accidents with injuries caused by ungulates, according to the Coldiretti estimate based on Aci Istat data, has practically doubled (+81%) on provincial roads: it is necessary to intervene with continuous killing and capture ".
