Waiting lists, Todde: «In 2024 one hundred thousand Sardinians did not show up for visits»
The Region presents its plan to reduce the times. But for the new single booking center we will have to wait at least six monthsVideo di Stefano Birocchi
"Waiting lists must become active. That is, if a citizen gives up a visit, another must be able to take his place. In 2024, one hundred thousand Sardinians did not show up for the visits booked and took away from another one hundred thousand Sardinians the possibility of being able to take advantage of those visits. This is not acceptable."
This is the most important passage of the press conference called at Villa Devoto by the President of the Region Alessandra Todde to illustrate the resolution on the new guidelines for the CUP that will be approved in the afternoon. If the Crenos report has placed a focus on healthcare "that we welcome", she explained, "a first signal that we can give is to reorganize the main interface that citizens have to book visits in public healthcare, namely the CUP. We have waiting lists that with the current system are destined to increase. With the new reorganization, citizens will be called back to confirm whether they show up for the visit or not".
But when will the new Cup be operational? "We are making a tender based on these guidelines and it will take six months to close it. However, some concrete things can change immediately: for example, we can work with the individual ASL on extraordinary programs for opening hospitals at certain times."
