Villacidro: A pensioner chains himself in front of local police: "Fire safety regulations not followed."

There were moments of apprehension this morning in Villacidro, where a 74-year-old man, Francesco Carboni, chained himself to the gates of the Local Police station on Via Repubblica. The defiant act occurred around 7:00 a.m. and attracted the attention of passersby and law enforcement.
According to the pensioner, the protest was sparked by the mayor's lack of response and the alleged failure to comply with regional and mayoral ordinances regarding fire safety regulations . The presence of the man, tied with a long chain to the office railings, initially caused great concern.

Carabinieri from the Villacidro branch also responded to the scene. They invited Carboni into the offices to clarify the reasons for the protest and investigate the reported situation.
After a few hours, however, the alarm was dismissed. Following an inspection, the commander of the Local Police, Simone Manconi, confirmed that there was no danger and that fire safety regulations were being complied with .

Mayor Federico Sollai also intervened on the matter, urging the public to report any anomalies through official channels.
