A 15-day-old newborn, in imminent danger of life, was urgently transported today from Cagliari to Ciampino with the F900 aircraft of the Trento Stormo of the Italian Air Force.

The little patient - reports the Air Force - needed to be transferred urgently from the "Duilio Casula" hospital to the "Bambino Gesù" pediatric hospital in Rome . Specifically, the little patient traveled inside a thermal cradle, monitored and assisted by a medical team. The life-saving flight was activated, at the request of the Prefecture of Cagliari, from the Summit Situation Room of the Air Squad Command which immediately involved the Thirty-first Wing.

The aircraft took off from Ciampino airport in the morning to head towards Cagliari airport, where the newborn was embarked. After landing in Rome, which took place at 1.30 pm, the ambulance went to the "Bambino Gesù" pediatric hospital for subsequent admission.
