Two thousand people in Florinas for the 34th Figulinas Festival

The municipal amphitheater of Florinas hosted the highlight of the 34th Figulinas festival, an international folklore festival dedicated to “Lorenzo Manconi”. The over two thousand spectators were captivated by the whirlwind of dances, sounds, rhythms and traditional costumes.
Sardinia was represented by folk groups from Bolotana, Mamoiada, Oliena, Orgosolo, Osilo and of course Florinas. The evening was opened by “Su ballu tundu fiolinesu” by the Figulinas Folk Group, accompanied by the thundering voice of their president Alessandro Chessa, the guitar chords of Salvatore Lisai and the notes of Gian Silvio Pinna’s accordion.
The foreign groups that performed were Ritmos del Tiempo from Peru, Volya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble from Ukraine, Conjunto Toŋariki from Chile and Agrupación Folclórica Bochica from Colombia.
The performance on stage was preceded by a parade through the main streets of the town with around two hundred participants.
