Tragedy on provincial road 90 in the direction of Trinità d'Agultu, where a 58-year-old woman, Andreana Demuro , died instantly after a head-on collision while traveling in an Opel Corsa towards the town.

According to initial reports, the accident was caused by a lane departure. This was followed by a violent impact with a Mazda driven by a 58-year-old man.

There was no escape for the woman. The medical workers, who responded to the scene with two ambulances and an Areus air ambulance, were unsuccessful. The helicopter took the Mazda driver to Tempio Hospital with minor injuries.

Carabinieri officers from the Valledoria company and the Tempio firefighters were on scene. An investigation is underway to reconstruct the incident and determine possible responsibilities.
