Attack with the mayor of Carbonia. An incendiary device was found near the car of the mayor Pietro Morittu in via Foradada. Fortunately there was no damage, but the Carbonia police station is investigating the episode. "I am shocked and saddened," commented Morittu.

Investigators are looking into the possible motive for the intimidation. Alarm and concern in the city, where other municipal administrators have recently ended up in the sights of criminals.

"As a fellow mayor and as president of the Council of Local Authorities, I express the most genuine solidarity and closeness to the Mayor of the Municipality of Carbonia Pietro Morittu, victim today of a very serious act of intimidation", intervenes the mayor of Sant'Antioco, Ignazio Locci, "in condemning this vile gesture, I would like to emphasize with force that the mayors are the guardian of legality in the Municipalities, the representatives of the State and of the Italian Republic: intimidating a Mayor in any way, therefore, is equivalent to an attack on the heart of the State that deserves the most severe condemnation".

Also close to Morittu is the PD group of the Regional Council, which through the mouth of the group leader Roberto Deriu , «expresses its solidarity with the mayor. No act of violence is admissible in a democratic community, the force of the law must bend every attempt at intimidation and protect the integrity of all citizens and their representatives».

Solidarity also from the Sulcis Democrats: "We want to show our full solidarity and closeness to Mayor Morittu, strongly reiterating our support for his work and his determination to continue serving citizens with commitment, transparency and courage", write the president of the provincial assembly of the Democratic Party Monica Fois and that of the Sant'Antioco circle Mariano Gala, "acts of violence and intimidation cannot and must not find space in our society. We must react with firmness and unity, defending the values of legality, democracy and respect for institutions".
