A new reform to update vocational training and address the labor market dynamics required by 2026. After nearly half a century, Sardinia is thus attempting to overhaul its vocational training system. This morning, the Regional Council presented the new bill, which aims to replace the 1979 legislation by introducing stricter controls on training institutions, certification of skills acquired, including on-the-job, and a single digital system to bridge training and employment.
"This law comes 50 years after the previous one, and is the result of two years of work. It effectively repeals the previous law: Law 47 of June 1, 1979. This is a revolution for the regional system," said Regional Labor Councilor Desirè Manca during the press conference presenting the reform. "The first objective," she continued, "is to connect the training system with career guidance. The second is the region's ability and capacity to implement that system and monitor training institutions. We are moving forward to build a training program aligned with the needs of the labor market and the employment system."
A continuous thread between training and work.
"It will strengthen the necessary connection between training and employment. For two years now, the Department of Labor, through various measures brought before the Council, has sought to further expand the training offering and make it more relevant to the true needs of the labor market. We had the strength and courage to repeal a law that no longer met Sardinia's real needs. This will bring young people closer to a labor market that cannot match that of 50 years ago," concluded Councilor Manca.
