A little over a month after the tragic boat accident in which the Sassari restaurateur Pietro “Lillo” Satta and his Ligurian friend Maurizio Rossi died, the Port Authority of Porto Torres has filed a detailed report with the Tempio Pausania Public Prosecutor's Office at the conclusion of the technical investigations carried out on the "Garupa", the semi-cabin cruiser that crashed onto the rocks in front of La Marinedda beach, on Isola Rossa , on 25 January.

The Coast Guard experts examined the hull, which has a huge gash in the bow, and the on-board instruments to try to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and the possible causes of the impact on the rocks. From the report, the content of which is confidential, only one certainty emerges: the Garupa crashed into the rocks at a very high speed . This circumstance is evidenced by the evident gash in the hull, at the bow. While the hull does not show any damage, a fact that would therefore exclude the hypothesis that the boat ended up in a shallow before capsizing and running aground on the rocks.

In the meantime, the lawyer Gabriele Satta, the legal representative of the family of the restaurateur from Sassari, has sent a formal request to the Tempio Pausania Public Prosecutor's Office to acquire some footage that would have been recorded by a webcam on the coast , pointed towards the stretch of cliff where Maurizio Rossi's cabin cruiser crashed at dawn on January 25. An accident that cost the lives of the two friends who had gone out at dawn for a fishing trip and never returned home. That morning the alarm was raised at 12:40, when two divers, who approached the overturned boat in front of the La Marinedda beach, saw the two lifeless bodies inside, and called for help.

According to what emerged from the autopsy on the bodies of Satta and Rossi, the two friends died practically instantly , due to the trauma suffered when the cabin cruiser hit the rocks .
