Tonara loses Tziu Tonino Sulis (91), dean of local cowbell production, who passed away yesterday after a short illness.
For Sulis, who has been working in the shop since he was 12, a non-stop commitment until two years ago, together with his son Carlo who took over the reins.
Orphaned at a young age by his father, he promoted local craftsmanship around the world together with his brothers and mother. Protagonist in the documentary “Sonaggios” by director Pietro Mereu, he collected the condolences of an entire community .
"He was not only a father - says his son Carlo - but the best teacher I could have. An example of dedication and sacrifice, combined with the desire to produce excellence. We will carry forward his precious teachings".
