In Sassari there is zero tolerance towards uncivilized people. In recent days, local police officers have raised ten sanctions against as many people, almost all of Sassari, who buried cigarette butts on the beach in Platamona. It was the plainclothes policemen who caught them in the act.

In Sassari since 2019 it is forbidden to smoke on the beach, except in the areas specifically indicated and identified. This is both out of respect for the neighbors and for the protection of the environment. Butts, remember, have a strong polluting impact because they contain highly toxic substances, which are released slowly, creating serious damage to the ecosystem that lasts for decades.

The operation is part of the “Safe Coasts 2022” campaign, aimed at also tackling various incorrect behaviors such as the abandonment of small waste and the theft of objects. Over the weekend the service of agents is enhanced and, it is emphasized, "particular attention this year will be given to the contrast of profoundly uncivilized behavior which also has criminal implications: it will be a fight against those who use the stalls reserved for people with disabilities without having right and to those who use the marks of other people or worse, falsify them. In the latter case, the criminal complaint is triggered ".

Attention also to unauthorized camping, to the indiscriminate parking of vehicles in wooded and dune areas, to the lighting of fires to power camping stoves.
