The works are finished. A few more weeks, the Municipality assures, and the green area of the Orto dei Cappuccini in viale Merello will be returned to the citizens of Cagliari.

In recent days, the consolidation work on the rocky ridge on the north side was completed. Subsequently, a turf decorated with a wooden and rope palisade was laid, with a low energy consumption LED lighting system. The construction site that had been started in the eastern part was also closed, with the recovery of one of the walls: the surface of the Garden was thus enlarged.

"The work of our administration continues in the growth of the city's green spaces", comments the mayor Paolo Truzzu, "we have managed to restore full usability to an area of important historical and archaeological value, allowing, in a few weeks, the return to usability of the collectivity".

«The intervention», adds the Councilor for Public Greens Giorgio Angius, «reaffirms the historical and cultural value of many of our green areas: in the Orto dei Cappuccini, in fact, within a few meters there are finds from the Roman era, spaces for families to enjoy, a popular urban vegetable garden and a characteristic rose garden, as well as numerous seasonal flowering trees».
