Cagliari's chief prosecutor, Rodolfo Sabelli, has scheduled an inspection of Punta Molentis, a town in Villasimius that was devastated by fire on Sunday afternoon, this afternoon, Tuesday, July 29.

This activity is part of the ongoing investigation to identify the person responsible for the fire that destroyed the promontory, incinerated dozens of cars parked in the parking lot, and forced hundreds of beachgoers to flee, including by sea evacuation aboard Coast Guard patrol boats.

Sabelli will be accompanied on site by the commander of the Forestry Corps, Gianluca Cocco, and the prosecutor responsible for conducting the investigation.

Forestry investigators – coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office – have been working since Sunday evening , acquiring video from the closed-circuit cameras of various businesses in the area: they are hunting for a suspicious car that may have been passing through the area when the flames started.
