A year and a half after the 211,000 signatures were deposited in the Regional Council, the process for the Pratobello 24 bill against the invasion of renewable energy in Sardinia begins on Wednesday, March 4th.
At 10:30 a.m., the Fourth Environment Committee, chaired by Roberto Li Gioi (M5S), and the Fifth Productive Activities Committee, led by Antonio Solinas (PD), will meet in a joint session to begin hearings and the examination of the bill regarding the establishment of "ground-based industrial photovoltaic plants and onshore wind farms, incorporating the principles and obligations for protection and enhancement contained in supranational, national, and regional programs."
The first to be heard will be the representatives of the committees, who have been fighting for a year to collect signatures "against speculation by large multinational wind and photovoltaic companies in Sardinia."
It begins with the committee promoting the law, led from the outset by Orgosolo Mayor Pasquale Mereu, followed by the committees of Uta, Gallura, Difesa Sardegna, Liberaterra Nuoro del Popolo Sardo, Bentu Libertadi, Alghero Nuova Resistenza per la Terra Sarda, and Pro Sa Nurra.
In a week when both the ruling for the dismissal of President Alessandra Todde and political developments regarding the balance of power with the Democratic Party (PD) over healthcare management are expected within days, the Council is also working on other important and flagship issues for the "progressive" coalition (as the governor now calls it): the revised text on the single collective bargaining framework for the Region and local authorities continues its process starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3, in the First Committee, chaired by Salvatore Corrias (PD). And on Thursday, March 5, the same Committee will join the Fourth Committee (Environment) to continue its examination of the government's bill "Regulation of the Regional Civil Protection System."
