The Marine Protected Area of Asinara wins the 2022 Ecotourism Oscar . The recognition wanted by Legambiente has now reached its tenth edition and rewards the most important initiatives at national level.

The ceremony was held this morning in Rimini as part of the Ttg Travel Experience event on tourism which saw the awarding of 14 realities, including some protected areas. This is the Italian reference event for the promotion of world tourism in Italy and for the marketing of the Italian tourist offer in the world, which focuses on the enhancement of nature and territories .

The recognition for the protected area of Asinara is linked to the path of the European Cets Card and to the creation of an underwater path in Cala La Reale equipped to be used also by users with motor and visual disabilities and realized within the community project Neptune coordinated by the Region.
The path of La Reale aims to improve accessibility for families, children, the elderly, the disabled and is in continuity with the Nature Path created in the terrestrial part, to which it is connected via a wooden walkway that extends into the sea with a floating platform.

From this begins an underwater path also equipped for blind people and people with motor difficulties about 100 meters long, with submerged peaks and descriptive plaques with writings also in Braille in the points of interest. The Commissioner of the Park Gabriela Scanu and the Director Vittorio Gazale, who thank all those who work in the Park, recall that "the Rimini appointment was also an opportunity to take stock of the funds that the National Research Council has allocated to development and improvement of the tourism sector ".

This is about 2.4 billion euros destined largely to achieve the best performances in the sector on the issues of digitization and environmental sustainability.
