The island is burning. In Elmas, fires are licking homes, leaving around thirty families evacuated.

In the Cagliari area, the most critical situation is in Elmas , where a fire broke out on several fronts, also affecting the external areas of some homes and cars.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the Fire Department—in conjunction with the Forestry Corps, which also dispatched a helicopter and a SuperPuma— the gas station located along State Road 130 was secured , preventing the flames from reaching the facility and averting far more serious consequences. As a precaution, part of the state road towards Cagliari was closed.
For safety reasons, some people were evacuated from their homes and properties as a precaution. About thirty families were evacuated. Some residents were assisted by medical personnel who responded to the scene via ambulances.
Also in the Cagliari area, firefighters, forestry workers and volunteers are also busy putting out fires that have broken out in the areas of Quartu Sant'Elena ( READ ), Serramanna, Selargius, Assemini and San Gavino Monreale .
Another emergency occurred in the Carbonia countryside, where the "R. Casas" area was hit. The Forestry Corps responded to the scene, supported by a helicopter from the Iglesias operations base and the SuperPuma from the Fenosu base.
Fire also broke out in Sorso ( READ ) and Fonni , in the Pratobello area. The Forestry Corps also responded to these incidents, with the support of three helicopters from the operational bases of Sorgono, Farcana, and Alà dei Sardi.
