The Anbi climate observatory had announced it: this weekend in Sardinia the hottest temperatures in Europe will be reached , with 41 degrees expected in Ottana. Now, to confirm the forecast, the Civil Protection alert has also arrived.

"A large trough is deepening from Iceland to the Portuguese Atlantic, favoring the expansion towards the north of a promontory from North Africa towards the western Mediterranean", the bulletin reads, "the very hot air coming from the Algerian desert will hit the western Mediterranean over the next few days, bringing the temperature to the isobaric surface of 850

hpa up to 22-24°c. At least until Sunday 15 June», therefore, «high or very high maximum temperatures are expected in Sardinia in all internal areas».

In particular, "on Saturday and Sunday, maximum temperatures could locally exceed 40°C in Logudoro, the Otana plain and Campidano. The situation in question will be monitored in order to evaluate a possible temporal extension in the coming days."
