The green train starts again on April 25 , ready to accompany tourists across the island and its itineraries. The new season was presented today by the regional councilor for Transport, Antonio Moro , who spoke of the important investments planned: «2023», explained the councilor, «will be a year of transition and important maintenance work on all the lines , with investments in progress and planned for 13 million euros by Arst and 62 million by Rfi».

The little train will resume its journey with its four lines , for a total distance of 437 kilometres : 158 from Mandas to Arbatax, 82 between Isili and Sorgono, 48 of the Macomer-Bosa line and 149 kilometers between Sassari, Tempio and Palau .

The initiative has grown over time, to the point of becoming an important reference: «The Green Train», Moro declared again, «represents one of the most powerful levers for lengthening the tourist season and involving inland areas in an experience project sustainable and integrated tourism around nature, culture, gastronomy, archeology and sport. In this context, the added value can be precisely the establishment, by Arst and with the direct involvement of the Municipalities, of a Foundation capable of having a global vision of the service and of the market in which it operates, in close and continuous collaboration with all stakeholders".

On the programme, there is a meeting with the 42 mayors of the network , with the aim of thinking about a common and shared path.
