The Nursing Up union, through its representative Diego Murracino, denounced the alleged anomaly: «The safety of patients and workers in the event of a fire is a serious matter», we read in a note, «we cannot remain indifferent to the spread of news of an imminent inspection visit by the Fire Brigade Command which is accompanied by the appearance in all departments of the San Michele facility of lists with the 24-hour shifts of firefighters». The problem? « The names» belong «to healthcare personnel who in the vast majority actually have no qualifications, having not completed the training required for Firefighters».

The San Michele del Brotzu hospital "is under special observation due to the recognized difficulties in evacuating patients and staff in the event of a fire, particularly from the sixth to the eleventh floor."

Nursing Up reports "the real danger due to the lack of periodic evacuation exercises which is added to the incomprehensible location of the wards with bedridden patients up to the eleventh floor while the management and administrative offices occupy a large part of the ground and first floors".
