The departure of the Blue Ocean A has been postponed until tomorrow morning. The cargo ship, flying the Caribbean flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, had been blocked in the port of Cagliari after a near-sinking in the waters of Carloforte. Safety checks revealed several irregularities on board.
The news broke yesterday: the ship has been freed and is ready to leave the island. The departure, scheduled for today, has been postponed. The Blue Ocean A will be towed by a Sicilian tugboat (already in port) bound for Turkey.
The Port of Cagliari Pilots and two tugboats from the Rimorchiatori Sardi company will participate in the unmooring and exit activities from the port of Cagliari.
