He had returned to Orune to bid farewell to a friend who was the victim of a serious illness, and he certainly could not imagine that, a few hours after that funeral, his tragic end would come. Luca Goddi, 47, from Orune, a breeder who had lived for some time in Tanaunella, a hamlet of Budoni, died on the day of celebration , shot dead in front of the stage ready for Su Cossolu.

A murder that took place in broad daylight, it was around 6.30 pm, in the market square where the stage remained empty and silent, and all celebrations were suspended. In the square, only the nervous noise of the carabinieri tape that delimits the crime scene and the flags blowing in the icy wind.

The ambush

The scene that occurs to the rescuers tells of a murder that seems to have matured more out of impetus than a premeditated ambush. The car, a dark blue Golf, is parked on the right-hand side of the road. The glass of the driver's door has been shattered by gunshots. On the other hand, however, the glass is completely lowered. Goddi's body, riddled with several gunshots, is lying in the driver's seat. Nobody knows anything. Many of the victim's brothers live in Tuscany, Goddi had already had problems with justice in the past. Leave a son.

The investigations

The carabinieri of the Orune station immediately arrive on the spot, followed shortly after by those of the operational unit of the provincial command of Nuoro, led by lieutenant colonel Saverio Aucello, accompanied by the magistrate on duty Ireno Satta. The men of the Bitti Company, led by Lieutenant Fabrizio Ricciardi and Lieutenant Giovanni Ciancilla, knock on the doors of the houses overlooking the Piazza del Mercato.

Maybe the shooter did it from close range. The news has no confirmations, like the one circulated in the town, that they pointed the gun at him from another car.

The last crime in Orune dates back to August 2021. Mauro Antonio Carai had been killed with several stab wounds. Two grazing neighbors, the twins Mauro and Giuseppe Contena, are on trial.
