An Award, the memory of one of the great women of Sardinia and a show dedicated to music that reaches the hearts of the people. Sunday starting at 5:30 pm (live on Videolina and Radiolina) the 22nd edition of the event dedicated to Maria Carta will be celebrated in Siligo. "Not just a singer-songwriter but an all-round artist that we are rediscovering year after year", said Leonardo Marras, president of the Maria Carta Foundation.

This year's edition coincides with the 90th anniversary of the birth of the artist from Siligo and the 30th anniversary of his death. The prestigious award will be given to Tosca, a multifaceted singer who moves between experimentation and the repertoire of Roman and Neapolitan tradition. As a Sardinian artist awarded is Daniela Pes from Tempio, a revelation of 2023 sealed by the Tenco Award for best first work.

The other awards go to the Rockhaus Blu Studio of Sassari, which has been promoting the island's musical productions for 30 years, and to the Circolo degli emigrati Sardi of Trieste which will soon be named after Maria Carta.

Several musical performances are planned for the evening. The opening act will feature Palmira Santoru, director of the “Maria Carta” choir of the “Pasquale Tola” comprehensive institute of Sassari. Then there is the Usini Choir, celebrating 50 years of activity, Maria Giovanna Cherchi, the tenors Remunnu 'e Locu di Bitti, Yasmin Bradi from Alghero and the Tamburellisti di Torrepaduli from Puglia, one of the most accredited groups in proposing the overwhelming rhythms of the pizzica salentina. They will also be joined by Andrea Pisu and Vanni Masala from the Fantafolk duo.
