A lane jump and the terrible head-on: Carbonia's husband and wife died
Yet another crash on the road littered with crosses between Carbonia and Villamassargia: a thirty-year-old from Iglesias is serious
Terrible head-on crash on Provincial Road 2, between Villamassargia and Carbonia. The toll is two dead and one seriously injured.
The head-on collision between a Punto and an Audi took place a few meters from the roadside crosses that commemorate the victims of the last two dramas, recorded in recent weeks, at the height of the hamlet of Tanì.
The deceased traveled aboard the Punto: they were husband and wife, from Carbonia. Their names were Antonio Cannas, 78, and Sofia Elsa Zoncheddu, 84. The Audi flew off the road and ended up in the middle of the vegetation: the young driver, a thirty-year-old from Iglesias, was transported to Brotzu by ambulance .
According to an initial reconstruction, the Punto invaded the oncoming lane.
Rescuers from 118, carabinieri, agents from the Carbonia police station and firefighters from the Iglesias detachment were on site.
