Fireworks display in the middle of the Marine Protected Area, with the launch of fireworks into the sea and onto the Mediterranean scrub. It happened on the night of August 15th in Tavolara, in an area subject to the constraints of the protected marine area.

Someone thought of celebrating August 15th with a fireworks show that lasted several minutes. According to reports from people present, and documented with footage from numerous smartphones, a box co n the pyric charges was positioned in one of the piers of the island.

The fireworks were lit before dawn and lit up a sector of Tavolara for a long time, below a building that was once a lime kiln.

The Coast Guard is aware of the incident and has viewed the footage. Tomorrow some surveys could be carried out on the wharf, to trace the people who placed the gunpowder charges. There are no formal confirmations of permits issued by the competent authorities for an activity of this type.
