Sardinia is grappling with maritime traffic disruptions caused by bad weather.

The west wind that has been blowing strongly in the last few hours, with gusts of around 50 kilometres per hour, has forced the Tirrenia company to change course.

The Moby Tommy ship departed from Genoa yesterday evening, Tuesday 19 November, heading towards Porto Torres, with a final change of destination due to adverse sea weather conditions, and was diverted this morning to the port of Olbia, considered more sheltered from the strong wind. From the Isola Bianca dock, today 20 November, the Moby ferry left its moorings to head towards the Ligurian port.

The decision to divert the ship to Olbia was made to ensure the safety of passengers and crew, avoiding risky situations in the open sea. Shipping companies had to reorganize their operations to adapt to adverse weather conditions. In the following hours, a worsening of the weather forecast is expected, which continues to signal the persistence of the strong west wind.
