Warnings have been present for days. But starting this evening and continuing throughout tomorrow, March 6th, a significant deterioration in weather conditions is expected in Sardinia: scattered showers are expected across the entire region, with an orange alert for hydrogeological risk affecting—for tomorrow— Sulcis, Campidano di Cagliari, Sarrabus, Ogliastra, and Baronia.

The warning was published by the regional Civil Protection.

"From the early hours of tomorrow," it reads, " weather conditions are expected to worsen, starting in southwestern Sardinia and subsequently extending to the rest of Sardinia."

Precipitation will be scattered to widespread, including showers or isolated thunderstorms, with moderate to locally high cumulative precipitation in southern and southeastern Sardinia. The thunderstorm component will be less severe than the stratiform component, with the most intense events expected between the early morning and afternoon.

Forecast models indicate a weakening of the phenomena starting from the evening.
