About 6 thousand Sardinian families are now involved in the interruption of the provision of the basic income . And there are already many who are turning to the social services of the municipalities in order not to incur the suspension of the measure .

"The operators - however, the Order of social workers explains - find themselves carrying out workloads that are no longer sustainable, without having the adequate information and administrative tools to be able to offer certain answers".

The president, Milena Piazza, wrote to the president of the region, Christian Solinas, to the councilors for labor and social policies, to the regional director of INPS and to the director of Aspal. An invitation "for them to work to put in place every useful measure to protect the safety of social workers and to prevent any form of aggression against them and allow the services to work in serenity". A real sos.

"It cannot be the aid professionals who pay the price for methods that are not adequately considered - said Piazza - and it is also for these reasons that we appeal to the institutions to support the request aimed at an extension of the terms, to thus allow adequate information to citizens, who and as is known not all are in conditions of unemployability (according to the new criteria) and also for those who could continue to benefit from the measure, the "taking charge" by the social services is not a procedure of a few days".

The order of social workers has also invited the Region to increase the funds allocated to social inclusion income , a "measure that in Sardinia has so far been able to give concrete answers to citizens who do not meet the more stringent requirements of citizenship income and of which today we feel even more need".

WHAT IS CHANGING AND THE KNOBS ON THE TABLE – The Citizenship Income will remain until the end of 2023 but only for families who, in addition to income difficulties, have minors, disabled or elderly people and for those in which a strong social hardship is established with the burden of the municipalities. From 1 January 2024 it will be transformed into an inclusion allowance. On the other hand, it will disappear from August for those able to work, who from 1 September will be able to apply for Support for Training and Employment (Sfl), which aims to encourage a path towards employment. However, it is a tightening, which will result in an estimated saving of 3 billion out of the approximately 8 spent on income.

THE SUSPENSION – There are 160,000 families (6,000 on the island) who benefited from the citizen's income or pensions and who received the INPS message suspending the subsidy since August. The last installment arrived on July 27th.

WHO CAN RETURN – It is envisaged that those who have lost the Rdc can return if they are taken over by the social services of the municipalities by the end of October, via communication on a platform called GePi. Thus he will obtain the Citizenship Income until the end of 2023. The subsidy could be people with addictions, women victims of violence, people in charge of psychiatric services, the homeless.

SUPPORT FOR TRAINING - Provides for the payment of 350 euros for a maximum of 12 months for every single person who starts the path to work and has lapsed from the Rdc. Therefore it can also be paid to more than one member per family. The application can be made from September 1st. It is up to those who have already activated themselves for projects useful to the community or training courses, through a platform (Siisl): but this platform does not yet exist even if the aim is to activate it in good time. The Tfl is also due to those who already participate in the national programs for the Workers Employability Guarantee.
