Stintino, the Pelosa beach halved by storm surges

A paradise chosen by hundreds of tourists every year, a beach with limited access, protected by a reservation system that limits access to bathers, with a maximum of 1,500 people per day.
Today La Pelosa, one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, appears halved, the mistral storm at the end of the year has exposed the rocks along the walkways, in front of La Pelosetta, heavily eroding the beach up to the cane protections of the dunes.
The north-east wind in the first months of 2025 did the rest. The result is dramatic: piles of sand, characteristic very fine and white sand, were swept away and the coast has not regained its initial structure. The shore was swallowed up by the storm surges, marine erosion has erased meters of beach.
Nature seems to have penalized it, with great displeasure for those who do not give up enjoying a swim in the crystalline waters even in the winter months. Once again it finds itself having to deal with the unpredictable winds that have raged in recent months, significantly reducing the beach in its dimensions.
The phenomenon of marine erosion is undoubtedly a natural fact, but the hope is that the currents will give back what they have taken away, at least before the tourist season begins again.
