Work will start at the end of March for the plano-altimetric rectification of about 1 km of the SS 129 "Trasversale Sarda". The intervention of Anas, worth 4.3 million euros, consists in the modification of the route between km 63.700 and km 64.700 with the improvement of road safety standards.

The works will be carried out through the use of framework agreements already available and therefore the timing of the tender procedure will be canceled.

The realization of the works, from the moment of the start of the works, is estimated in about 400 days.

SAFETY OBJECTIVE - The Department of Public Works has also asked the Ministry that the project for the safety and adaptation of the 129 state road in the section between Macomer and 131 Dcn, that is the busiest section, be included in the Anas program contract. A study will determine what future interventions will be.

"Road safety is a condition that we cannot ignore because it means having respect for human life and for the human person", said the councilor for Public Works, Aldo Salaris, during the meeting with Anas and the representatives of Pintor Association, born to remember the Nuorese brothers Francesco and Matteo Pintor, who died in a car accident on that stretch of road on Christmas day five years ago.

"Sardinia has already cried too many crosses on the roads - continued the commissioner - and our commitment is aimed at guaranteeing better standards of practicability of the arteries and more efficiency of the road infrastructures to decrease the percentage of fatal accidents, which unfortunately places the Sardinia above the national average ".

Councilor Salaris spoke of a necessary and urgent intervention "to ensure that no one can mourn the death of a child, a brother, a friend because of the danger of a road. We are committed with all our strength to provide the Sardinian road network of a modern and safe network and, in this overall modernization plan, to secure the 129 ".
