A weekend of bad weather for Sardinia, as reported by the two alert bulletins issued by the regional civil protection. Snow will occur even at low altitudes, gusts of wind and storm surges.

From 8pm today and until 8pm tomorrow, scattered snowfalls are expected both at altitudes above 800 meters and in the range between 600 and 800 meters, albeit with isolated episodes.

In addition, the warning for wind and storms goes off at 6pm today and will last until midnight tomorrow.

"Starting from today evening and throughout the day of tomorrow on Sardinia there will be a progressive increase in windiness - explains the Civil Protection - The winds will blow from the western quadrants up to a strong storm with gusts of storm. west coast and the northern coast of the island. The sea of Sardinia, the Gulf of Asinara and the Strait of Bonifacio will have a progressively increasing wave motion, resulting in very agitated or locally large westerly (tomorrow) with probable storm surges on the exposed coasts ".

Rain, thunderstorms and snow are also expected for tomorrow and Sunday. "The depression circulation that crosses the Mediterranean, fed by cold air of polar origin - says the weather office of the Decimomannu Air Force - will bring atmospheric instability, a decrease in temperatures and an increase in ventilation".

From this evening, "snowfall is expected to be around 800 meters above sea level. Tomorrow, due to thunderstorms, the snow level could drop to 600 meters". The mistral wind will increase from tonight with gusts that on the Strait of Bonifacio will touch 80 kilometers per hour. Possible storm surges especially in the western sectors. The climate picture will improve on Monday.
