The level of the Corongiu reservoir, in the Sinnai area, has dropped significantly, so much so that the main reservoir collects just 203 thousand cubic meters of water (20 percent of its capacity).

The water of Corongiu that once fed Cagliari and its surroundings, today guarantees water only to Burcei through an old pipeline on the mountain. The situation is continuously monitored by Abbanoa that manages the plants. The lower dam is instead empty, with a large puddle on one side. A very small reserve for a possible emergency.

It hasn't happened for a long time. However, these are small reservoirs that, as Abbanoa says, could fill up quickly in the event of heavy rains. The current capacity of the first dam is sufficient to guarantee water to Burcei for a few more months.
