A tragic road accident occurred last night on the former State Road 125, near the Burranca junction, in the Sinnai area . A woman lost her life in a violent head-on collision between three vehicles, which occurred around 10:30 PM.

The impact was devastating. One of the cars, a white Peugeot, went over the guardrail, while the other, a black SUV, remained on the roadway with its front end completely destroyed. The victim, a 71-year-old, according to initial reports, was a passenger in the French small car, which, after the impact, went off the road. The driver suffered a serious leg injury.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and worked extensively to extract the injured people trapped in the vehicles involved, who were then taken over by emergency responders . Ambulances rushed the four injured people, with critical conditions, to the Monserrato Polyclinic and Brotzu Hospitals. However, there was nothing that could be done for the 71-year-old woman: she died from the severe injuries she sustained even before emergency responders arrived.

The investigations were entrusted to the Highway Police officers.
