"Forgotten Words" . Forgotten words and philological hypotheses are the content of a book , written entirely in limba, by Vittorio Pinna , 84 years old, from Sindia, former provincial councilor and vice president of the Mountain Community .
Why a book? «I have been studying the Sardinian language since 1963. The book contains words and speeches in Sardinian that are now forgotten, that many do not use, preferring to Italianize everything. I would like to convey this message to the Sardinians, to recover our language and our culture. Many speak Sardinian but do not know how to read it. The time has come to regain the voice that many Sardinians have forgotten. We need to speak with others in a language that is in the nature of man. Language that means what one thinks, the meaning one gives to words, what one uses to make oneself understood by others».
Vittorio Pinna is of the opinion that a language cannot be imposed on a people by trying to unify it , with the so-called Common or Mesanian language. «We know that language, like all cultural facts, at least in part, is constantly always in motion through the paths of time».
In the book Vittorio Pinna tries to clarify many aspects on the use of the Sardinian language, the one that has always been spoken and the one that must be protected.
"Peraulas olvidadas" contains all the philological hypotheses on Vittorio Pinna's thought.
