The goal is to promote the artichoke, a symbol of the local economy and culture, and the festival itself through the narrative power of images. The Municipality of Siamaggiore is launching the fourth edition of the "You're Ugly Like an... Artichoke" photography contest, on the occasion of the 31st Artichoke Festival. In collaboration with the Dyaphrama Cultural Photography Association, the municipality announces the opening of registration. The contest invites professional and amateur photographers of all ages to submit an original shot that creatively interprets the proposed theme, the artichoke.
A jury of experts will select the winners. The first-place winner will receive €400, as well as the honor of having their work featured as the official poster image for the "2027 Artichoke Festival." Second-place winners will receive €200, and third-place winners will receive €100. Visitors will also play an active role. The works exhibited in the Council Chamber will be subject to a public vote to award the €100 People's Jury Prize.
Participation is open to all. Authors must submit their works in digital format no later than March 10, 2026, to concorsofotosagra@gmail.com .
