Another town in Sardinia remains without a general practitioner . This is the case of Villa San Pietro , now devoid of the important health service.

Mayor Marina Madeddu explained it on social media, alerting fellow citizens and inviting them to report to the medical guard not only for emergencies but also for the simple "prescription of drugs and tests".

" This is news that I never wanted to give, and I give it with all the weight of deep concern - he writes -: the doctor who had given availability to temporarily cover our vacant office was not given the job because he is already retired and therefore incompatible. These are intense days of discussions at all levels to find a solution that is not easy because at the base there is the well-known lack of doctors ".

For Madeddu the only way to remedy this situation could be the derogation, as it was already granted during the pandemic. "And this I am asking strongly - he observes - In the meantime, the direction of the Cagliari West District of the ASL is seeking the availability of medical on-call doctors to activate a dedicated service. But at the moment there is still no membership".
