New sensational anti-drug operation between Sestu and Quartucciu with the discovery and seizure of two thousand Indian hemp plants, marijuana and doses of hashish.

A 41-year-old farmer, accused of cultivating Indian hemp, ended up in prison : he will be tried this morning in Court in Cagliari. A 23-year-old from Quartucciu was also reported free for possession of around thirty plants of marijuana and doses of light drugs.

The blitz, coordinated down to the smallest detail by captains Michele Cerri and Pietro Lucania and by lieutenant Riccardo Pirali, began after weeks of careful, silent investigations, stakeouts and collection of testimonies.

Last night the military took action by raiding the countryside of Sa Magangiosa in Sestu where patrols found almost two thousand Indian hemp plants, arresting the 41-year-old farmer.

Immediately afterwards another patrol moved to Quartucciu to the home of a 23-year-old who had been under surveillance for days, with the recovery of another thirty hemp plants and doses of soft drugs. Hence the free complaint.

It is not the first time that cannabis crops have been found in the Sestu countryside. A few years ago, thousands more were seized with arrests and investigations carried out over time to keep the area under control. Now the new blitz.
