Three people who had violated the urban daspo were reported by the Carabinieri of the province of Sassari . It is the result of the activities carried out by the military in recent weeks and also intended to improve the liveability and decorum of urban areas, using the tools put into effect by the most recent decrees on city security, including the so-called "Caivano Decree".
Several ad hoc checks were carried out throughout the province, particularly during night hours, in order to prevent disorder in public establishments and places of public entertainment, verifying any illegal possession of knives or similar instruments. From these findings, as written, it emerged that three people violated the measure of prohibition of access and/or simple loitering near public places (the so-called urban Daspo) that had been given for 2 years due to previous criminal records . The aggravation of the administrative measure was then requested.
An awareness campaign has also been launched on the risks of carrying a knife, because, according to the police, "a blade in your pocket does not make you stronger but only increases the probability that an argument will degenerate, multiplying the risks because, in a moment of anger, two destinies can be destroyed - that of the person who suffers the blow and that of the person who inflicted it". The "Caivano decree" provides for arrest in flagrante delicto in the case of carrying a bayonet, sharp-pointed and double-bladed knives, dagger, double-edged switchblade or knuckledusters.
In the first 4 months of the year, the military reported 34 people at large, 19 of whom were under the age of 30, found in possession of prohibited cutting weapons or similar instruments . On the subject, the Carabinieri continued an awareness campaign aimed at very young people in schools, addressing the age group of young people between 12 and 18.
