The request for eight years of imprisonment was requested yesterday in court in Sassari by the prosecutor Lisa Succu against a 33-year-old Senegalese man.
The man is accused of attempted assault, improper robbery and resisting a public official because in 2017, according to the indictment, he threatened to hit a woman and another man who intervened to defend her with a broken bottle. He stole the latter's cell phone before being stopped by state police officers whom he resisted by kicking, spitting and making self-harming gestures.
For the prosecutor, the charges are proven and the version of the 33-year-old who said he was followed by the woman to have sexual intercourse would not be credible. While the other hypothesis would see the defendant, drunk, asking for the money back because he was dissatisfied with the relationship, perhaps not consummated.
According to defense attorney Giuseppe Onorato, his client only wanted to defend himself and did not hurt anyone.
The panel, chaired by Giancosimo Mura, with Monia Adami and Sara Pelicci on his side, adjourned until February for the reruns.
