Agreement signed for the transfer of 12 stores of the bankrupt Cobec company to a subsidiary of Carrefour.
The agreement was defined in Sassari by the representatives of the large-scale distribution giant, by the Ugl, Cgil, Cisl and Uil unions and by the bankruptcy trustees of Cobec.
A long period of uncertainty ends for Cobec's 90 employees and a relaunch of the sales points is looming. The unions collect the result after a long negotiation. The problem was given by the situation of the store in via Pascoli, in Sassari, excluded from the agreement. Colleagues accepted a 15 percent salary reduction for three months and a lower level of qualification for 18 months so as not to exclude the 14 employees of Via Pascoli.
The situation of Cobec (a company that belonged to the entrepreneur Rinaldo Carta) was difficult. The auctions had gone empty and no one was showing interest until the arrival of the Carrefour subsidiary. The Ugl trade unionist Giada Sechi comments: "We believed in it and now we are starting an agreement that leaves no one behind. Also thanks to the sacrifices that the workers have accepted".
