Progress is underway with the Rings Park in Sant'Elia. The Cagliari City Council has updated the guidelines for the modification of the executive project for the second and third phases and for the design of a fourth completion phase, for which the administration will evaluate an additional €6 million in funding as part of the 2027-2029 budget planning. Projects include fencing the entire park, revising the parking areas, renovating the arena area for outdoor performances, and measures to integrate the park into the overall redevelopment of Sant'Elia. As part of the process of improving the Sant'Elia neighborhood, its landscape and environmental quality, safety, and accessibility for residents, the redevelopment and functional completion of Jovanotti Park is also on the agenda . With the council's approval of the technical and economic feasibility project, a total investment of €400,000 is now planned. In the Poetto area, a €250,000 project has been approved for the construction of two new prefabricated restroom units in the area between Via Vulcano and Via Stromboli . They will be used by businesses, as well as by users of the new spaces designated to house mobile food and beverage vehicles . Among the projects approved is the executive project for the renovation and upgrade of the municipal football stadium on Via Figari, for a total investment of €700,000 (€400,000 from municipal resources, €300,000 from the Region). The work includes a new artificial turf surface and the adaptation of the playing area, with the goal of allowing official Second Category matches and the regional Under-18 Junior championship to be held. Eight sports facilities have been named after prominent figures in their respective disciplines: Cenzo Soro, Olga Orrù, Maria Teresa Mameli Manunza, Gianni Zuddas, Piero Rollo, Claudia Testoni, and Gianfranco Fara . The names will become effective following approval by the Prefecture.
