Luca Silanos, and Alessio and Fabio Levanti, remain in prison in Bancali, accused of receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of a firearm.
Today in Sassari court, Judge Gian Paolo Piana confirmed the arrest, made by the Carabinieri a few days ago. The three were held as part of the investigation, led by Deputy Prosecutor Paolo Piras, into Giovanni Maninchedda, also in prison, charged with attempted murder.
Last January 19th, the latter, at his car dealership in Predda Niedda, fired a 9mm pistol at Silanos, who was entering the forecourt of his business. Video footage also appears to show the Levanti brothers arriving, and one of the three is also believed to be armed with a gun. Maninchedda's lawyers, both his former and current ones, have argued that their client acted in self-defense.
The incident three months ago was allegedly triggered by a violent altercation in a shopping center the day before the shooting between Maninchedda and several of the suspects . The lawyers for the suspects—Lorenzo Galisai for Silanos, Marco Palmieri and Paolo Spano for Alessio Levanti, and Anna Maria Santoru for Fabio—will file a motion for review.
