Curated by the musical cultural association Ellipsis, the "Spring Concerts" series is back with ten events until May 20th.

The opening is with the French-Canadian saxophonist Daniel Gauthier who on Thursday at 8.30 pm in the Sala Sassu of the Sassari Conservatory proposes "Spirito latino" accompanied on the piano by the Korean Jang Eun Bae.

The first saxophonist to win the Grand Prize at the International Stepping Stone of the Canadian Music Competition, Gauthier has performed all over the world: from the USA to Korea, from Japan to South America, from Australia to Europe. As a soloist he has played with various orchestras and ensembles, recording five CDs with the Alliage Quintett for the Sony classical label. He has received the famous German CD Award "Echo klassik" three times.

Pianist Jang Eun Bae soon focused on accompaniment and chamber music and has performed in many European countries, America and Asia, where she regularly gives concerts at major music centers.

He currently teaches at the Cologne Academy of Music and is a regular guest at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where he has worked together with artists such as Klaus Stoll, Harvey Shapiro and Thomas Riebl.

The concert includes music by Jean-Nicholas Savari, Manuel de Falla, Astor Piazzolla, Robert Muczynski and will conclude with “Scaramouche” by Darius Milhaud performed together with the Saxophone Ensemble of the Conservatory of Sassari directed by the teacher Enea Tonetti and formed by the students Edoardo Rosa and Adriana Caria (soprano sax), Giuseppe Bussu, Francesca Pischedda, Arianna Sale, Francesco Bitti Mulas (alto sax), Gianluca Deiana and Elisa Lapia (tenor sax), Emanuele Depalmas and Simone Benevelli (baritone sax).

Furthermore, from 11 to 13 February, Daniel Gauthier will hold a masterclass aimed specifically at Canepa students.
