Sassari, inmate attacks two officers with kicks, punches and bites
The two men from the penitentiary were taken to the emergency room for checks. The union: "We need anti-aggression devices"

Two agents of the penitentiary police were attacked last night by an inmate in the Bancali prison and had to go to the emergency room.
The complaint comes from the regional secretary of the PolGiust union, Elia Falchi, according to whom the man first devastated his cell, flooding it and destroying the furniture, then threatened the prison policemen who were trying to intervene to calm him down. After managing to enter the cell, the policemen were however hit by the detainee with kicks, punches and bites.
"The two wounded officers were first medicated by the doctors on duty in the prison, then accompanied to the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata hospital for further checks", explains Falchi.
"Today more than ever the situation in our homeland prisons remains alarming - the comment of the national secretary PolGiust, Roberto Melis - and the reality is that our policemen continue to be attacked for no reason or apparent reason." - the conclusion - that the Penitentiary Police are equipped with those much vaunted anti-aggression devices ".
