Three countries gathered in an extraordinary municipal council as a sign of solidarity with Maffei Sarda Silicati. This is the initiative of Sarule, Orani and Ottana to show closeness to the company which last Friday suffered an arson attack in which three excavators worth 600 thousand euros were destroyed.

The three mayors Paolo Loddo, Marco Ziranu and Franco Saba not only condemn the gesture but want to express their gratitude to the company that has been working in the area for 30 years and employs about a hundred workers, including employees and related industries. Moreover, since yesterday Maffei Sarda Silicati has called a strike "on the contrary" for six days: stop to the activities to claim, as announced by the managing director Federico Fiorelli, "a serene working environment".

“We mayors of the three countries in which the three quarries are located which have an important impact on the territory - said the mayor of Sarule - want to be the actors of a strong gesture that leads the three communities to reflect. We want to express closeness and solidarity to the company that has suffered enormous economic and moral damage, but also to the workers who find themselves involved in this suspension from work despite themselves ".

Also last year the company had suffered damage, a bulldozer parked in the Ottana quarry had burned down.
