Another night of fire in the mountains of Sarroch , where due to the strong mistral wind the fire that broke out yesterday between Perd'e Sali and Spagnolu and which had initially been put out at dusk, started burning again.

Hours of great fear, ash and smoke , with the flames being put out again only in the morning with the clean-up operations resumed with the use of two Canadairs .

A devastated forest, "precisely that slice of territory in which we had invested time and resources to increase planting" sighed yesterday, faced with the devastation, the mayor Angelo Dessì.

The fire broke out yesterday morning when a 78-year-old from Villa San Pietro , already identified and reported for negligent arson, lost control of the fire set to burn branches after pruning some olive trees.

So houses evacuated, animals escaped or moved from farms. Several fire brigade teams, the Forestry Corps, volunteers and two Canadairs intervened on site, but they were unable to operate due to strong gusts of wind.
