San Vero Milis, beats his wife with a bar and hammer: arrested

A 67-year-old from San Vero Milis was arrested on charges of mistreating and harming his wife.

The 48-year-old woman, according to the reconstruction of the investigators, had lived for fifteen years in a state of prostration. Insults, threats and blows were the constant of his days. Until six days ago she ended up in hospital with head and back injuries also caused by hammer and bar blows.

The investigations by the carabinieri, dependent on the provincial command of Oristano, were immediate. The 48-year-old was beaten in the head and back with a bar and hammer at the height of an argument. She then managed to escape to the street where a motorist rescued her.

On the way to the health facility, the 48-year-old told what had happened to her rescuer and then repeated everything to doctors and carabinieri. Within a few days the soldiers of the Arma carried out all the checks and the victim was also subjected to a psychiatric examination. "From the report - explain the carabinieri - a tragic experience emerges, dependent personality traits manifested, as the investigating judge affirms to the extent, in the concrete case with his continuous relapse into the harmful relationship with his partner".
