The labor judge condemned the Aou of Sassari to pay seven million euros in arrears to 25 specialists. The decision came at the end of a complex case, promoted and strongly supported by the CGIL Medici of Sassari.
According to the last document of the lawsuit, the Aou of Sassari has paid the medical directors of its hospitals less than what they were due for almost twenty years. The Court of Sassari ruled in favor of the lawyer who represented the doctors registered with the CGIL. This is Emanuela Tabasso, the lawyer has demonstrated that the Aou did not correctly count the salary of the medical managers for the ancillary items of the remuneration, in particular for what was due to the specialists on the basis of the tasks undertaken.
The labor judge established that the calculation and adjustment must be made starting from 2007. This was requested in the dispute opened by the national director of the CGIL Medici, Miriam Pastorino, and the territorial secretary of the Public Function, Paolo Dettori. Now the Aou has the possibility to appeal the first instance ruling. The CGIL's arguments could apply to all the medical staff of the University Hospital of Sassari.
