Sensitize young people to a more conscious use of the web and social networks, in order to protect their private life, their tastes and habits to avoid, among other risks, profiling for commercial purposes and more. The conference room of Ersu Sassari hosted the information and training event entitled "Use of the web and protection of personal data, a possible combination?", Organized by the institution, with the patronage of the Guarantor for the protection of personal data, with the collaboration with the Department of Law of the University of Sassari and the Project Unit - Head of Data Protection for the Regional System.

The event attracted a good number of students from different degree paths to learn about the pitfalls that are hidden on the web and social media and how to protect themselves or, at worst, defend themselves. Among the topics dealt with was online profiling - how it happens and who gains from it - the consequences and anti-tracing and anonymisation techniques as useful defense tools; the preventive protections that the web makes available, i.e. the right to transparency and informed consent, the right of access and cancellation as tools of substantial protection.

The works, opened by the Extraordinary Commissioner of Ersu Sassari Rosanna Ruiu and the director Libero Meloni, were led by Professor Raimondo Motroni, associate of the Department of Law (UNISS), Dr. Alessandro Inghilleri, coordinator of the project unit and engineer Fabrizio Gianneschi, data protection officer for the regional system.
