Clinging to the rock faces facing the rough seas of Balai Lontano, waiting to be rescued, three 12-year-old boys risked being stranded on the rocks lashed by the waves off the coast of Porto Torres.
The incident occurred yesterday morning, Wednesday, July 29, around midday, when the boys, having left a rock where they had left their clothes, without considering the risks of the rough sea, after swimming a short distance, had to find shelter on another rock face.
They then asked for help from Manuele Derudas , a sea enthusiast who happened to be kayaking nearby. "It was a special day for me, a difficult moment that fortunately ended happily," he says, "because I was able to rescue the three boys, who found themselves in a complex situation. So after hearing the cry for help, I approached with my kayak and allowed them to hold on to the boat. I asked him if they had gone to the sea alone, because the situation was truly dangerous, and that's when I discovered that they hadn't ventured out without informing anyone."
Manuele Derudas was very scared, but also happy to have brought them to safety. "I encourage you to reflect on the dangers of rough seas, a condition that requires greater vigilance."
